Year R

29th March 2019

Year R have had a busy week again. They’ve been making up stories, doing some beautiful handwriting and trying their best with their key words. They really enjoyed choosing books from

our lovely new library. Happy Reading!

Well, what a week in Year R!  They have built wonderful machines and vehicles to help the Little Red Hen.  They have made delicious, creamy butter and have the muscles to prove it!  I hope that you enjoyed sharing the tasty bread the children baked as well!

This week Year R have been writing about delicate daffodils. They went on a senses welly walk, exploring smooth and rough surfaces. They felt the wind and looked for birds. In Math's they had a challenge to count all the chairs in the classroom. They have also been measuring the distance a toy car travels down a ramp and exploring what happens when they change the surface the car travels on.

Year R had some very special visitors this week!  The chicks from Year 1 came to see them!  They did some fantastic writing about them and drew some lovely pictures.

Year R have been enjoying the sunshine playing parachute games, skipping and cycling and even making music in the woodland.   I hope the neighbours didn’t mind!
