PE and Sports Funding

The PE and Sports allocation is funding provided to schools specifically to improve the quality and provision of PE and sports in primary schools. This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sports, and will see money going directly to primary school head teachers to spend on improving the quality of sports and PE for all their children.

It is for schools to decide how the PE and Sport funding is spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made to enhance the provision for PE in school. Schools are held accountable for how they have used the additional funding.

At Kempshott Infant School we recognise the important contribution PE makes to the health and well-being of all the children. We consider that an outstanding PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of the children.
